My name is Timi and this is my public Zettelkasten.
You can look at Zettelkasten as a micro-blog or a personal wiki. A collection of single-idea, interconnected notes, that come from my own learning, thinking and experiences.
You can start accessing it from two ways:
- by its topics
- by the trains of thought as they started to form in it
Browse by topics
As themes emerge in my notes, or there is a topic I know I want to take more notes in the future, I create hubs from where I can access notes of a similar topic. These I call hubs.
To start discovering my notes from a topical entry hub, go to my OmniHub note: 0a-omnihub
(Or just take a look at the hubs section in the left side menu.)
Browse by trains of thought
When I make a new note, I try to insert them next to an existing one that’s most similar to it. In the Zettelkasten sphere, it’s called the Folgezettel approach. Folgezettel simply means follow-up note. The alphanumeric IDs in the title of the notes help these notes to stick together in a list.
This way, notes form a train of thought by ideas and their follow-up ideas. These trains of thoughts can be a bit more random tho than topical collections, since they connect the way we play a game of association.
To start discovering my notes not topically, but sifting through trains of thought, go to the root of my Zettelkasten: 0-root
(Or just take a look at the zettels section in the left side menu.)
