I checked once when Queen Elizabeth II was still alive: she was already the queen when my parents were born, and I’m 40 now (as of 2025). No wonder generations thought of her being a constant.
She rose to the throne so young (at only 25) because her father died at only 56.
Her reign was so long by accident, while her contemporary, Pope John Paul II had a long papal reign by design.
