In 2025, the equal voting rights of women is 80 years old.
Women got partial voting rights in 1919 in Hungary, but until 1945, it wasn’t equal to the voting rights of men.
To put this into perspective: when my grandfathers turned eligible to vote, young women of the same age and educational background still weren’t allowed to vote alongside them.
It’s worth keeping in mind how young these rights are.
