I really don’t like the gatekeeping, combined with name-calling, hostility and disrespect that Scott Scheper builds around his product, claiming to be the One True Zettelkasten Guru.
I don’t like the maliciousness of it all in general, it really hurts my soul and makes me uncomfortable. It’s one of the reasons why I stepped away from Scott’s orbit. (They later also banned me from the subreddit.)
But also it’s just so painfully capitalistic.

- One hallmark point of Scott’s distinguishment is being analog, which I find a silly thing to put such great focus on. It also builds on a false representation. Yes, Niklas Luhmann used paper and handwriting ‘til the end of his life, but he was born in 1927 (he was just two years younger than my younger grandpa), and died in 1998 (I didn’t even touch the internet yet by that time).
