I find most articles I read about Benjamin Franklin’s “scheme” (daily schedule) lacking.

They usually only focus on that one page daily schedule and try to drive conclusions from Franklin’s notes on the page.

But there is a note in the morning, one in the evening,

  • “prosecute the present study” and
  • “examination of the day”

that in my opinion can’t be severed for the content of the previous pages.

Namely: virtues, and how Franklin practiced them and tracked his practice.

This way, articles that build solely or mainly on the schedule, miss the point that Franklin put the 13 virtues and his practice around them in the center of a successful life.
